India will tour Zimbabwe for a series of five one-dayers after their tri-series in the West Indies that concludes on July 11. The series will start July 24 and end on August 3. In 2010, Suresh Raina captained a young side which failed to make it to the final of the one-day tri-series involving Sri Lanka.

India registered their first overseas bilateral series cleansweep in ODI history with a seven-wicket win over the hosts in the fifth and final one-dayer. Amit Mishra spun his way to a maiden five-wicket haul as India bowled out Zimbabwe for 163. The 30-year-old leg-spinner clinched 6-48 in 8.5 overs. With 18 wickets in the series, Mishra equaled Javagal Srinath's world record for most wickets in a bilateral series.Ravindra Jadeja remained not out on 48, while Ajinkya Rahane made 50 as India reached the target in 34 overs. India had made two changes in the lineup - Rahane coming in for Ambati Rayudu, and Shikhar Dhawan replacing Rohit Sharma. India made light work of the 144-runs target set by Zimbabwe on Thursday, as they beat the hosts by nine wickets to take a 4-0 lead in the series. Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina hit unbeatean half-centuries as India reached their target inside 31 overs. It was Raina's first 50 in 12 one-day innings. The home side slumped to 47 for five inside the opening 16 overs of the innings. Mohit Sharma led the attack after India had won the toss and elected to field, claiming 2 for 26, to become the second Indian player to receive the Man of the Match award on debut in ODIs. Kohli's 64-run stand with Ambati Rayudu (33) and an unbroken partnership of 56 with Suresh Raina (28 not out) gave him his first full-series victory as team India captain. Earlier, man of the match Amit Mishra took four for 47 in his 10 overs. Seamer Mohammed Shami backed Mishra up with 2-25. Man of the match Shikhar Dhawan struck 116 from 127 balls, capitalising on sloppy bowling and fielding by the Zimbabweans, to lift India from 65 for four in the 17th over and post a daunting 294 for eight in their second one-dayer. Dhawan, who got at least three lives, completed his third ODI century and shared 167 runs with Dinesh Karthik (69) for the fifth wicket. India's tail looted 23 off the last over. In the seventh over, Skipper Virat Kohli, who fell to a controversial catch, argued aggressively with on-field officials who sought a review from the third umpire. He was adjudged out even though the replays were unclear. Chasing 295, Zimbabwe made a strong start with Sibanda collecting seven fours and two sixes, falling after getting to his fifty. Set 229 to win, captain Kohli hit 115 from 108 balls and debutant Rayudu 63 not out from 84 balls as their third wicket stand added 159 runs. India cruised to 230 for 4 in 44.5 overs, winning with 31 balls to spare. Virat Kohli will continue to lead the side to Zimbabwe for five ODIs beginning on July 24 in the absence of Dhoni. Gautam Gambhir has been ignored yet again, while Jammu and Kashmir spinner Parvez Rasool and Haryana medium pacer Mohit Sharma are the fresh faces in the relatively inexperienced national side announced today. The selectors opted to rest spinner R Ashwin, the pace bowling trio of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav.The 24-year-old Rasool became the first cricketer from the strife-torn Kashmir to be selected for the Indian cricket team. In 2009, he was detained and questioned by the Karnataka police for alleged links to a terror plot outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, but was released a few days later.
